General Landry: Let’s all work together as one big Louisiana family to take care of one another.

Attorney General Jeff Landry has issued guidance on the Open Meetings Law to assist Louisiana Public Bodies during the current Public Health Emergency.

General Landry: If consumers suspect price gouging, they should report it to their local law enforcement agencies. We do not want people or businesses to illegally take advantage of this crisis.

General Landry: The Insurance Commissioner's report confirms what we believed when the Legislature, almost unanimously, passed Act 412: this bi-partisan law will protect individuals with pre-existing conditions while lowering health insurance premiums.

General Landry: Louisiana abortion providers have a record of non-compliance with basic safety regulations, and now they want a special exemption from generally-accepted medical standards that apply to similar surgical procedures in our State. Women seeking abortions deserve better than that; they should have the same assurance of prompt and proper care in the event of complications.

General Landry: As a father, I am deeply troubled by the alarming number of middle school and high school students using e-cigarettes. As the Attorney General, I will continue to do all that I legally can to protect children and make our State safer.

Louisiana is not Texas. Louisiana Act 620 is not Texas H.B. 2. June Medical Services vs. Russo is not Whole Woman's Health v. Hellerstedt; our facts, our evidence, and our generally applicable medical regulations are all different.

General Landry: Domestic abuse victimizes all aspects of our society. Not only do our immediate victims suffer; but so also do our children, our schools, our health facilities, our businesses, our court systems, and our communities. General Landry: This decision is a big win for the taxpayers of Louisiana and the agencies tasked with constructing and improving critical infrastructure across our State. In addition to having $22.08 million in attorney’s fees struck down by the Third Circuit Court of Appeal, our team has now been able to save taxpayers $28.46 million in judicial interest on top of the $38.29 million damages award.

General Landry: Protecting pre-existing conditions is not partisan, it is proper. I will continue doing all that I can to protect patients, ensure coverage of preexisting conditions, guarantee coverage for essential benefits, and assure a robust marketplace for affordable healthcare with choices for the people of Louisiana.

General Landry: Consumers lose millions of dollars each year due to scammers selling phony tickets; so I strongly encourage Tiger fans to be cautious when purchasing tickets to the National Championship game.

General Landry: Our brief outlines the documented evidence of Louisiana abortion clinics’ poor safety records, inadequate credentialing practices, and efforts to undermine health and safety regulations designed to protect women.

This ruling shows what a procedural quagmire we find ourselves in. All we want to do is bring additional, relevant information to the attention of Law Enforcement and the Court. As Judge Elrod states, this is also information that is important to the public.

General Landry: This ruling will help ensure that pending criminal litigation in Louisiana continues through the courts efficiently - allowing all prosecutors, as well as our office, to continue working to ensure justice for crime victims and their families.

Upholding their obligations and duties at the Louisiana DOJ to refer alleged criminal activity for investigation and prosecution, attorneys filed a writ of mandamus with the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals requesting the unsealing of information so that a criminal referral can move forward against a staff member at a Shreveport abortion provider.

General Landry: Child pornography is a dreadful crime that inflicts lifelong damage to the victims. I applaud my office and our law enforcement partners for finding and arresting the despicable people who possess, distribute, and produce these horrific sexual abuse images and videos.
