Florida Lifts Restrictions on Louisiana Travelers

Louisiana AG Jeff Landry Thanks Florida Gov, AG

BATON ROUGE, LA - Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry today thanked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody for working with him to lift travel restrictions imposed on Louisiana citizens during the COVID-19 crisis.

Florida Executive Order 20-139
removes Louisiana from the list of states from which travelers entering Florida must isolate or quarantine themselves for a period of 14 days from the time of entry, or for the duration of the person’s presence in Florida. This new order supersedes EO 20-86, and comes after many productive conversations between General Landry and Florida’s top elected officials.

“I thank Governor DeSantis and General Moody for not only recognizing the success our State has made slowing the spread of Coronavirus but also, and most especially, for removing the travel restrictions that had been placed on Louisiana travelers,” said General Landry. “Many Louisiana citizens travel to Florida to visit family, conduct business, or get much-needed vacations; today’s declaration helps make those movements a lot easier.”

Florida’s most updated decree still maintains the travel restrictions on people from Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. It continues to exempt persons employed by airlines, as well as those performing military, emergency, or health care services.
