Attorney General Jeff Landry to Remain in Baton Rouge This Week

BATON ROUGE, LA – Wanting to assist the community reeling from Sunday’s tragedy, Attorney General Jeff Landry will remain in the Capitol City this week and not attend the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

“Baton Rouge and all of Louisiana are hurting from Sunday’s senseless tragedy, and I will not leave them during this dark time,” said General Landry. “Instead, I will continue to assist the grieving families and law enforcement agencies impacted by Sunday’s heinous attack. Politics and political events will always be there; now is the time for unity.”

General Landry called on the State to utilize their strong faith in God and their great ties to family so we can come together in peace and harmony.

“As fallen Officer Jackson pleaded, do not let hate infect your heart,” added General Landry. “I echo his call and encourage everyone to join me in prayer for the recovery of our injured and the protection of all first responders.”
