Attorney General Jeff Landry Announces LifeSmarts Competition

National Consumer Education Contest Helps Teach Necessary Life Skills

BATON ROUGE, LA – Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry today announced the annual 2017 LifeSmarts Louisiana Competition will be held in Baton Rouge on March 10, 2017. This free, consumer education quiz bowl tests high school students on their knowledge of personal finances, health and safety, the environment, technology, and consumer rights and responsibilities.

“My office is excited to host this event that assists in high school students learning necessary life skills,” said Attorney General Jeff Landry. “I look forward to seeing our young people demonstrate their understanding of topics that will greatly impact them in the future.”

LifeSmarts meets national educational standards and provides free online materials which compliment any high school curriculum and can be used as a learning activity for classes, groups, clubs, and community organizations. In order to participate in the state finals, the teams composed of 4-5 students and their adult sponsor or coach must advance through preliminary rounds online.

For more information or to register for the competition, teams may go to www.lifesmarts.org or call Attorney General Jeff Landry’s office at 225-326-6400.
