BATON ROUGE, LA - Attorney General Jeff Landry’s national award-winning Medicaid Fraud Control Unit has arrested two South Louisiana women.

“Medicaid fraud deprives much-needed services for our State’s vulnerable; and our office is dedicated to investigating, arresting, and prosecuting fraudsters,” said Attorney General Jeff Landry. “Despite potential budget cuts that threaten our efforts to meet the challenges associated with the Governor’s Medicaid expansion, we will continue to work hard for the people of Louisiana.”

Nicole Ferdinand, 37 of Paulina, was arrested on four counts of Medicaid fraud for allegedly intentionally defrauding the Medicaid program by providing false claims of medical services. She was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Saudia Pitts, 33 of Hammond, was arrested on one count of Cruelty to Persons with Infirmities for allegedly mistreating an infirmed adult/disabled person. She was booked into St. Tammany Parish Prison.

Medicaid fraud occurs when providers use the Medicaid program to obtain money to which they are not entitled.
