BATON ROUGE, LA – Attorney General Jeff Landry today
announced the arrest of former Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Adrian
Slaughter.
“I have said over and over that my office will not stand for
corrupt public officials, either appointed or elected,” said General Landry.
“Our State’s people deserve officials who act in a way that is lawful and
admirable. When their officials do not, it threatens the public’s trust in
government; and we will root out that type of behavior.”
Adrian Slaughter, 50 of New Roads,
was arrested and charged with 16 counts of Payroll Fraud and 1 count of
Malfeasance in Office for allegedly working extra duty details while
simultaneously being on the clock at the Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested
today by Attorney General Jeff Landry’s Office and booked into the Pointe
Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
