BATON ROUGE, LA - Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry issued the following statement after the United States Senate confirmed Neil Gorsuch’s appointment to the Supreme Court of the United States:

“I applaud the United States Senate for confirming President Trump’s first nominee to the Supreme Court. I especially want to praise Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for ending the partisan judicial filibuster and returning the Senate to the way our Founding Fathers intended. This leadership choice was a constitutional end to the political games our citizens are tired of seeing from their elected officials. Now that the Supreme Court is whole again, our country can move forward in a productive manner. Justice Gorsuch has a proven record of respecting the Constitution. I hope he will continue to be an honorable jurist who will uphold states’ rights and religious liberty.”
