AG Jeff Landry: 2020 has challenged all of us, and it is understandable for folks to want to let loose as they welcome 2021. Unfortunately, criminals do not take the holidays off so I encourage all law-abiding citizens to celebrate wisely. Together, we can help make the new year happy and safe for our State and her people.
AG Jeff Landry: My office and I are dedicated to making Louisiana a safer place. We will continue to collaborate with our local, state, and federal partners to bring child predators to justice.
AG Jeff Landry: I am proud of the work my Cyber Crime Unit has done during the pandemic and will continue to do through these times of increased online activity. We will never cease in our efforts to investigate and arrest those committing Internet crimes against children.
AG Jeff Landry: My office is committed to using every tool we have to protect Louisiana’s children. We will continue to collaborate with our local, state, and federal partners to bring child predators to justice.
AG Jeff Landry: My team and our law enforcement partners continue to do more with less to keep our State’s children safe. I am very proud of the work they do every day to bring child predators to justice, and I hope they get the resources necessary to do their jobs even more effectively during this time of increased online activity.
AG Jeff Landry: Policies have consequences, and one consequence of the Governor's shutdowns and mandates is an increase of online activity – including internet crimes against children. Maintaining the status quo when it comes to protecting our children during these perilous times is dangerous and jeopardizes the safety of our communities.
AG Jeff Landry: Child pornography is a dreadful crime that inflicts lifelong damage to the victims. So I applaud my office and our law enforcement partners for finding and arresting the despicable people who possess, distribute, and produce these horrific sexual abuse images and videos.
AG Jeff Landry: In order to help ensure the well-being of all Louisiana children, I urge parents and guardians to take a brief moment to learn about these recalled products.
AG Jeff Landry: It is imperative that families be extra vigilant and take the appropriate precautions to make certain Louisiana’s children remain out of harm’s way. I encourage parents and guardians to review the following safety tips and re-iterate them to their children.
AG Jeff Landry: Crimes against children are some of the most heinous acts imaginable, and they are even more despicable when perpetrated by people in authority who are supposed to be protecting kids.
AG Jeff Landry: My office and I will continue doing everything we legally can to bring child predators to justice. We are grateful for our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners who assist us in protecting Louisiana children.
AG Jeff Landry: I want to thank the Grove City Police Department and all our law enforcement partners for their assistance in this investigation. My office and I are committed to protecting children from those who wish to exploit them.
AG Jeff Landry: The road was not easy to travel, but today we finally arrived to justice for the young victims. I am proud of the hard work by AAG Matt Derbes, AAG Brooke Harris, and AAG Barry Milligan to ensure Mr. Perilloux was brought to justice.
AG Jeff Landry: Every time a sexual abuse image or video of a child is viewed, that child is re-victimized. My office and I will not tolerate these egregious crimes, and we will continue working hard to find, arrest, and prosecute child predators.
AG Jeff Landry: I thank Representative Romero and Chairman Garofalo for sponsoring this important students’ rights bill. Most importantly, I thank the bill's namesake - Ka'Mauri Harrison - who has shown courage and maturity well beyond his years. I now look forward to working with Senator Fields to secure a smooth passage through the upper chamber.
AG Jeff Landry: The Harrison family has basically been sent into a bureaucratic abyss for no reason and told there is no way out. The "adults in the room" failed Ka'Mauri when they unfairly punished him; I will not let them fail him again.
AG Jeff Landry: I have begun investigating this matter and plan to take action in defense of this young man and his family and all families who could suffer the same invasion of their homes and constitutional rights.
AG Jeff Landry: We will continue to collaborate with our local, state, and federal partners to bring child predators to justice. We are committed to using every tool we have to aggressively pursue those who wish to harm our children.
AG Jeff Landry: Every time a child sexual abuse image or video is viewed, that child is re-victimized. So my office and I will continue to do all we legally can to protect those children from further harm.
AG Jeff Landry: This is an ongoing investigation. I encourage anyone with information regarding Vicek Kannan, to call my Cyber Crime Unit toll-free at 1-800-256-4506; callers may remain anonymous.
