Alleged Child Rapist Arrested in New Orleans by AG’s Office

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry today announced his office’s arrest of a New Orleans man on rape charges.

“Sexual abuse of children is disturbing and disheartening; and my office and I will do all we legally can to end it,” said General Landry. “We will not stop or slow down in our efforts to arrest child predators and help rescue their victims.” 

Charles Martin, 41 of New Orleans
, was arrested on one count of First Degree Rape of a child under the age of 13 and one count of Sexual Battery. Through an investigation, agents learned that Martin had allegedly sexually abused at least two juvenile children over the course of several years. He was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Prison following a joint investigation led by General Landry’s Cyber Crime and Violent Crimes Units and assisted by the Louisiana State Police and the New Orleans Police Department.
